Flat figures are engraved in thin metal sheets. The tradition of flat figures continues in Germany. The figures are mostly 30mm height. Some artists achieve really masterpieces of painting with flat figures.
I painted this medieval knight trying to give a sense of depth. This is always the challenge when painted this type of figures.

This German company produced German army soldiers. The most part of the figures in my collection were already painted.
I add some paint on three figures that were glued in wood bases.

Kieler Zinnfiguren (1927-1997)
German company founded in 1927 by Aloys Ochel (1906-1979) in Kiel continuing production under direction of Erika Ochel until 1997. Reproductions were made after 2009.
The figures I have, represent the Prussian army of 19th century.
