Many European countries colonized parts of other continents, mostly Africa. The resistance of local peoples to the invaders lead to wars. Soldiers from this wars have been produced by many companies.

This reference depicts the Tuareg tribes that fought against French occupation of Algeria and Spanish presence in Morocco.
There are five different riders mounting 2 types of horses. The warriors are nicely sculpted and one have a typical shield. Saddles are attached to figures. As usually with this company the horse sculpting is a bit flat with very low muscle definition.

Zulus
There are four different figures in two basic poses. They are in painted metal and are nicely sculpted albeit a little static as they all are shooting with riffles.
These figures are more near to the display type then to a toy soldier. The metal figures come already painted and in separate packages, being expensive.

Hinchlife
This company produced metal figures in kit form. These soldiers are typical colonial British Army that fought in Africa or in India.
They are foul of movement and make a very nice group. Figures painted by me.
Lineol
This German company is famous for their composition figures. In my collection I have two that represent irregular soldiers probably from North Africa with a Arab/Muslim, flavour.
