British Guards

One of the most recognisable symbols of the United Kingdom are the soldiers with the large fur hats that guard the Buckingham Palace.

This is the figure number 2 in Peter Cole´s book (bibliography). These are the same figure with slight differences. Under the base there are engraved: “Made in England S 1”.

These figures are numbered from 5 to 8 and were introduced in 1953 and deleted in 1976. Figures were produced in England and in Hong Kong.

Figures numbered 9 to 12 were made in Hong Kong. Painting is very basic.

This is figure number 17 with different right arm with numbers 18, 19 and 20. Introduced in 1953 and deleted in 1976.

Numbers in Peter Cole´s book are 30, 35 “Made in England S 6”, 35 “Made in Hong Kong for Britains”, 36 “Made in England S 7”

The first figure of this group was “made in England” with the Herald mark and a paper flag. The other two figures were also “Made in England 1”.

These are figures “Made in England” “1” and “3”.
