Robin Hood is probably the most represented fictional character of all in toy soldiers. Many television series and films help to spread the interest on that story.
Barzso
The figures of this maker are of the generalist type not directly related to Robin Hood characters.
The figure with the stick could be related to the character “Little John” and the last could be “Robin Hood”.
Arrows were an essential weapon of Sherwood forest robbers. Figures painted by me.
To oppose the brigands, Barzso, made some Normans. “Sheriff´s Men (Normans) set nº2007-S”
The last figure is the only one that comes with a shield. For me it was more logic to had some cardboard shields to improve the defence capabilities of the soldiers.
The shields were secured by metal stripes as usual made from glue tubes.
In all there are eight different figures very well sculpted. Each box contains two of each pose.
Britains
Britains made two different series of Robin Hood theme.
Robin Hood (1133) with the sword and Little John (1131) with the stick. The other brigand is nº 1129.
Characters: Friar Tuck (1132), a Normand soldier (1134), the Sheriff of Nottingham (1135) and Made Marion (1130).
Crescent
A nice group of characters from Robin Hood story was also produced by this British company.
Are immediately recognizable, Made Marion, Little John, the Sheriff of Nottingham, Alan a Dale and Friar Tuck. Figures painted by me.
Dulcop
This Italian company made a Robin Hood series with some of the main characters.
We can recognise Robin Hood and Little John in the first two positions.
The sheriff of Nottingham is on horse back in the company of two foot soldiers. Friar Tuck shows his sword up high. I added some reins and a few “leather” stripes to give the horse a more Medieval look. Figures painted by me.
Marx
Marx company produced a Robin Hood series engraving the character name under the base of some figures.
From the left we can identify Made Marion, Friar Tuck, Little John and a brigand (no name on the base).
The Sheriff of Nottingham, three brigands and Robin Hood. A didn´t paint the last figures because they are broken. Perhaps some day I will get them in good shape.
Replicants
The Peter Cole company made also figures with the Robin Hood theme.
Whilst Little John means business with is stick Robin calls for help blowing the horn.
Two very nice figures. While Made Marion calls for help, Friar Tuck strikes with the sword.
Four more figures. Alan a Dale plays a song to boost morale of his companions. Figures painted by me.
