The term “Barbarians” was the name given by Romans to all people that they consider non-civilized. Under that name we can include not only Gaul and German tribes but many other living north of Danube and in Asia.

9019 – Spanish Warriors (c) 2007
The figures made by Hat represent one of the many Iberian tribes that fought against Romans. Perhaps the most characteristic weapon was the short sword known as “falcata”. The sculpture is good but the figures are a bit flat.
To add variability to poses I changed the position of the arm of the last two figures.
9054 – Italian Cavalry
The sculpture is characteristic of Hat figures, good if not outstanding. I add reins with bits of thread. The last figure was given the tribe totem. It is possible to change the orientation of the right arm of some figures to increase variability.
9089 – Gallic Warband (c) 2007
There are, as usually, only four poses of this reference. The figures represent from the light infantry to the heavy one. The sculpture is not the best. We think that this them would deserve a more comprehensive approach.
Those who like to paint can indulge in shield decoration and fabric.
9211 – Celtiberian Warriors (c) 1999
Celtiberians were a fusion of Celtic peoples with more ancient Iberian inhabitants. The figures are of Hat type, not outstanding sculpt job but fine. One of the figures have option of a spear or a musical instrument. With this option it is possible to have 5 different figures instead of the common 4 poses.
The option of including half figures as heavy infantry (the two figures on the right) is probably excessive in terms of army composition.
Jecsan
Huns
The Huns were one of the many peoples that originated in the steppes of Asia and invaded Western Europe. They relied in horses for mobility and warfare. Unfortunately the figures we got from these Spanish company are only infantry. The figures are dressed in a very reduced way which is not very convincing. Historicity is not high in this group of figures except for the helmets. It´s a missed opportunity because the sculpting work is good.

Gauls
This French company produced very beautiful figures is hard plastic and factory painted. I have only two Gaul warriors. As you can see they are well sculpted and painted, however we would liked a bigger shield in the foot figure. I hope to get some more in the future.

Romans and Barbarians
This reference include both opponents but here we show only the Barbarians. We get four poses that are odd because they have very stretch legs and lack any kind of shield. This is a very disappointing group of figures even if the sculpture work is good.
